At gvxo we focus on bringing back life and excitement to textiles that are on their way to landfill. Using sustainable fabrics to create limited & one of a kind versatile garments you’ll re-love over & over again.

To dress and inspire is our mission - encouraging sustainability and helping the planet one garment at a time.

Did you know?

It is reported by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) that Americans generate over 16 million tons of textile waste a year...90% of which could be reused or recycled. The fashion industry being one of the most polluting in the world!

Why slow fashion?

It is the opposite of fast fashion, advocating for slower ethical production and consumption without the thought of trends. It allows for your style and creativity to shine.

Why zero waste?

It allows for responsible production, reusing and recycling materials left as "waste." Scraps and threads that would normally get tossed out are reused. Meaning no discarded materials.

if you’re wondering…

gvxo stands for handmade with love by me, featuring my initials ♡

Ganitzia Vargas.

I am a proud latina; first generation - first born - Mexican American raised in Chicago, Illinois. From a very young age, fabric manipulation has always fascinated me!

I choose early on to step away from conventional expectations and seeked a career in the arts. As a child, I was certain I wanted to be a fashion designer —a vision I pursued through an Apparel Design course in high school and later by earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from Columbia College Chicago. All while working as an administrator in various fields while attending school full time.

Recognizing the environmental toll of the fashion industry and combining my extensive administrative experience, I founded GVXO, a brand committed to slow fashion and zero waste. I truly love creating sustainable edgy designs inspired by my roots and the environment. Sharing my passion with the world is all baby Gani wanted to do, and i’m so glad you all allow me to do just that.

Thank you so much being here!
